Why Men Cheat

For long it has been said that men pathologically promiscuous and most are always ready for extramarital relationships. Well, this may not be entirely true for all men but many of the male sex are promiscuous - it is said. There are a lot of theories on this and a lot of research is being carried out on the issue by psychologists and biologists.

Biologists, yes, if it is pathological then biologists have better chance of decoding it and they have found one clue ! Scientists have recently found a gene - AVPR1a, which governs a receptor that regulates the production of a hormone called vasopressin produced by brain and this hormone contributes to attachment behaviour with mates and offspring.

My source of the above is www.sciencemag.org which has the following article. I express my thanks to the scientists who have found out this research and the people of sciencemag.org to publish it. You can find the article with complete text here:

Please read the entire article as it shows good insight into the matter.

Hi Harish

To be fair to all, women also cheat but men are too dumb to know. By nature men are not as observance as women. :)

:) what you say may be right but scientists so far not discovered that. Perhaps most of those scientists are of female sex :-)

Thanks and keep commenting...

Harry,

Januesk is right...well partly.

It's not than men are dumb. They are just more forgiving.

Hahaha Jules,

Now I am afraid your girl friends are going to be after you...

Why Men Cheat

good compilation, i like, the way you gave the credit "My source of the above is www.sciencemag.org", you know sometime we have limited time and what we can do is, do some research on our own niche and give back some useful to the readers and that's exactly i like about your article.

keep it up dude, keep coming in more research. and that's way i do.

Thank you

Harry,

how many hours do you have in a day? I have 24 and I can hardly get anything done.

And you have 2 blogs!!! And you have to sleep 7 hours a day.And I gather you have a day job?

Jeez...you can start a time management class :-)

Girlfriends? I have only 3 - one is my sister (who's even more enlightened than me :-D), another is my best friend who is more manly than man (a cop in HK), and my very silly ex-colleague who's genderless (not like a girl, nothing like a guy either). None will disagree with what I said :-)

You do have 2 great blogs, Harry :-) Always informative, always serious, always wanting to impart something that others can use.

Looking forward to your next entry on this blog :-)

Hi Jules,
All I can say is thank u :)

Well, as for time management, the fact is sometimes I feel its too much. But as you see I don't update this blog very often, only when I have some interesting thing to tell.

Big Thanks once again...

I say humans, men and women both, are both biologically prone to cheating, among other things that we know are wrong. But we (for the most part) have the awareness that it is wrong and the self control not do it, if we choose to use it. I think that people just use science and biology as an excuse to do something they know they shouldn't be, and they know they can refuse. Unless they have an addiction problem.

Thanks Kristi,

what you put in the comment is a very good subject to debate and hopefully I'll right something on it soon.
